For more than 20 years I have had a successful full-time career in Senior Management and Fundraising & Marketing for a number of major UK Charities.More recently I have worked on a self-employed basis allowing me to lend short and longer term support to my clients.
I have particular skills in dealing in very challenging issues like those facing People with Disability and their Carers and the difficulties and prejudice met by individuals and families coping with Mental Ill Health.
You will see from the CV that I have successful direct experience at the sharp end of fundraising.My ‘hands on’ track record covers all aspects of a modern fundraisers’ portfolio – from developing direct mail programmes, devising and running events, introducing trading catalogues, Trusts and Foundation applications, Face to Face programmes and major Capital Appeals.

I believe I am very strong in writing copy that relates the problems individuals are facing in humane and moving language, conveying the urgency and depth of the needs that supporters can actively help to meet.

I currently act as a marketing consultant for a small chain of Hair Design Salons. We are developing and implementing schemes for ‘New Client Acquisition’. The plans so far have generated an approximate £42,000 p.a. of new business.
After a long and successful career in business I decided to go East 15 in 1995 to train as an actor. I emerged one year later with a Post Graduate Diploma and haven’t looked back since!
I am enlivened by the challenges and thrilled by the joy I always find when on stage or in front of a camera, working with other actors to create something to provoke, inspire amuse or entertain an audience.

My combined experience in Senior Management, International Training and my own training and subsequent professional work as an actor, mean I am highly aware of how essential effective communication is in all aspects of business. I also design bespoke programmes for individuals and small groups (up to 6) that can address platform skills when delivering ideas to others.

Personal Impact workshop 4 hours intensive over 2 days (2004) - One-on-one work with an International CEO, Paper Products with goals of increasing confidence of presentation and vocal ability in English as a foreign language. This highly focussed project was part of the individual’s personal growth plan.
Self Presentation Workshops 3 x 4 hour group workshops (25 participants) - I have designed and run different sessions addressing self-awareness / presentation and self-confidence, customer care and handling complaints / difficult clients, appropriate language and body language, all these for teams of salon staff.
Key-note speech preparation 12 hours over 6 weeks (2005) -Comprised 6 x 2 hour sessions with a Senior Executive in the Oil Industry. The work focused on voice placement, vocal variety and breathing to assist projection and authority.
MBA final presentation preparation 24 hours over 3 months (2004) - Assisted young MBA student in preparation for a major qualification presentation including voice production, platform skills and slideshow design/content
